CODE OF CONDUCT

Jagex strives to provide a safe, friendly and inclusive environment where guests and staff alike can enjoy, at all times, our shared passion for all things RuneScape. To help make RuneFest as brilliant as we all want it to be, all attendees are required to comply with this Code of Conduct, as well as the RuneFest terms and conditions and any other event rules, regulations, policies or procedures which may be posted at the venue, on our website, or otherwise distributed to attendees from time to time. Please take the time to read these rules as you may be asked to leave if any of the rules are broken.

This Code of Conduct outlines our expectations for all attendees, including sponsors, staff, speakers, guests, media, exhibitors and any other participant at RuneFest.

Jagex reserves the right to refuse entry to or remove from the event without warning or refund anyone who we reasonably suspect has engaged or will engage in, or threatens to engage in, unacceptable behaviour at or in connection with RuneFest, including any breach of any part of this Code of Conduct. Such individuals may also be banned from attending future Jagex events and/or reported to onsite security and police in accordance with applicable laws. Attendees who breach applicable laws may face prosecution.

All decisions about inappropriate or unacceptable behaviour are at Jagex’s sole discretion, and any decision taken by Jagex will be final.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR

We want everyone at RuneFest to feel welcome. We therefore expect attendees to be considerate and respectful to their fellow attendees and to comply with all applicable laws, codes, regulations, standards and judicial or administrative orders. Attendees should be mindful of the property and privacy of others, and whilst personal filming and photography is allowed at RuneFest, if someone asks you not to film or photograph them you must respect their wishes.

If you witness or experience behaviour which does not meet the standards of this Code of Conduct, or have any other concerns during RuneFest, please notify a member of staff, onsite security or police as soon as possible and we will do what we can to assist you and to deal with the situation.

UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR

HARASSMENT

Any form of harassment, whether verbal, physical or psychological and whether in person or via other communication methods, such as by phone or social media, will not be tolerated. Harassment in all its forms, based on gender identity/expression, race, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, religion or otherwise is unacceptable.

Harassment includes deliberate intimidation, stalking or following; unwanted photography or recording; teasing, jokes and innuendo; inappropriate gestures; inappropriate physical contact; unwelcome sexual attention; or inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in public spaces.

In addition, written, verbal or other abuse; boisterous, lewd or offensive behaviour or language; persistent disruptive or disturbing behaviour; or other dangerous behaviour is not acceptable.

VIOLENCE

Violence, threats of violence and aggressive behaviour are not tolerated at RuneFest.{" "}

This includes any act of aggression, physical assault or threatening behaviour that occurs against a person, group of people or property involved with the event, either in person or prior to the event and through any form of communication, including but not limited to social media, in-game communications, or email or Discord servers.

DRUG & ALCOHOL ABUSE

Possession or use of illegal substances is strictly prohibited. This means all illegal drugs as well as controlled substances, including any prescribed medication that has not been legally obtained or which is not being used in its intended dosage or for its intended purpose, and any over-the-counter medication being used at a dosage in excess of recommended manufacturer levels.

Attendees are not permitted to bring alcohol to RuneFest but it will be available for sale to be consumed only in designated areas. Bars will sell alcohol only to those over the age of 18 and operate a ‘challenge 25’ policy: if you look under the age of 25 you will be required to provide valid government-issued ID, such as a passport or driving licence, to prove your age.

Attendees must drink responsibly and drunk and disorderly behaviour which negatively impacts the enjoyment of others will not be tolerated.

THEFT AND DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

Theft of or damage to property of the venue, Jagex and its suppliers, or other attendees is not acceptable. Attendees who steal or damage property, whether deliberately or accidentally, may be liable for the cost of repair or replacement of such property.

SMOKING

The NEC operates a strict no smoking policy including cigarettes, pipes, cigars, e-cigarettes and all vaping products or devices. Smoking is permitted in designated outside areas only.

TRADING AND OTHER COMMERCIAL ACTIVITY

Strictly no trading or other commercial activity is allowed other than by official exhibitors approved by Jagex. Solicitation of tips, fees or donations is not permitted for any reason, unless you have been authorised by Jagex in writing in advance. Real world trading of in-game items, gold and accounts is prohibited and attendees who engage in such behaviour may have their game accounts banned as well as being removed and banned from RuneFest.

PHISHING AND SCAMMING

It’s an essential part of the enjoyment of RuneFest to bring players together in real life. However, attendees should still take care to protect the safety and security of their game accounts and we remind players that the Rules of RuneScape continue to apply. Any attempt to scam, trick or deceive other players for your own advantage will not be tolerated. Any attendees who engage in such behaviour may have their game accounts banned as well as being removed and banned from RuneFest.
